Statement on the Jewish American Security Act

The Nexus Project welcomes the introduction of the Jewish American Security Act, and thanks Senators Rosen (D-NV) and Lankford (R-OK) for their leadership bringing this bill forward. This legislation — which includes an historic $1 billion expansion of the Nonprofit Security Grant Program, the establishment of a Title VI Clearinghouse, and improved hate crimes data collection — represents a significant federal commitment to Jewish security and fighting antisemitism. Alongside these efforts, we are proud to support the Antisemitism Response and Prevention Act (H.R. 6806), which advances additional policies to tackle the root causes of antisemitism, and we hope to see that legislation introduced in the Senate soon.

Fighting antisemitism and protecting the democratic freedoms that have always guaranteed Jewish security are not competing goals — they are inseparable. The Jewish American Security Act delivers concrete resources and enforcement mechanisms to enhance the safety of Jewish communities. We will remain engaged as it moves through Congress and into implementation to ensure that the fight against antisemitism is not used by the executive to suppress protected speech or undermine the civil rights of all Americans.
