Mission:

Rooted in Jewish values and a deep commitment to pluralist ideals, The Nexus Project works to make American Jews safer and American democracy stronger by providing the resources and expertise to effectively combat antisemitism and authoritarianism and prevent legitimate Jewish fears from being used to attack civil liberties and democratic institutions.

Our Values:

We are guided by a commitment to pluralism, diversity, intellectual openness, academic rigor, and human dignity. An America where antisemitism has no foothold and where Jews of all backgrounds are secure, accepted, and contributing alongside allies to a thriving democracy that protects everyone.

How We Do This Work:

The Nexus Project approach is unique — supported by experts, professional staff, and an academic task force of leading scholars, writers, and thought leaders, and grounded in trusted data and rigorous research.

We bring this informed, expert approach to the public square — equipping policymakers, journalists, educators, allies, communal leaders, and the general public with the tools to identify, understand, and address antisemitism and prevent our community’s fears from being used as a weapon to attack civil liberties. This includes speaking out when fears of antisemitism are exploited to stifle legitimate criticism of Israeli or US policies.

We believe that combating antisemitism effectively today requires distinguishing genuine antisemitism from legitimate political expression, so that efforts to fight hatred remain credible, principled, and effective. By shaping public understanding, producing trusted research, and equipping leaders and institutions with clear frameworks and practical tools, Nexus helps strengthen both Jewish safety and the democratic norms that protect all communities.
