Jonathan Jacoby, National Director of the Nexus Project, released the following statement:
“The Nexus Project condemns the deadly terrorist attack at Manchester’s Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation that killed two people and injured three others during Yom Kippur services. Our hearts are with the victims, their families, and the entire Jewish community. We stand with them in solidarity in the face of hate and tragedy.
“This attack – targeting Jews at prayer on their holiest day – is a stark reminder that antisemitism remains a deadly threat around the world. To help counter this threat, we will continue to call for enhanced security for Jewish institutions, implemented in partnership with Jewish communities, and sustained efforts to build solidarity across all communities. True security comes from communities standing together against antisemitism and all forms of hatred – not from fear and division. The fight against antisemitism is inseparable from the defense of democracy itself.
