After the Trump administration told Harvard University it violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act over antisemitism on campus, Jonathan Jacoby, National Director of the Nexus Project, raised concerns that the administration’s actions weaponize concerns about antisemitism, and would actually undermine Jewish safety. He told NPR, “Living as a free people in an open society is essentially unprecedented in Jewish history. And it’s kept us safe, and our relationships with other Americans have kept us safe.” He continued, “Standing against the weaponization of antisemitism to undermine democracy is part of standing against antisemitism.”
