Antisemitism watchdog the Nexus Project, which also describes itself as a free speech advocate and has positioned itself to the Anti-Defamation League’s left, said that the harassment was “unacceptable.”
“Recall that in December of 2023, a stalker waited for Wiener on a plane and yelled at him about his ‘tainted bloodline,'” it said. “It has to stop. These antisemitic actions are not a productive part of the democratic process. They are intimidation tactics – and in a disproportionate number of incidents, Jewish elected officials are the ones targeted.”
“We hope organizers, elected officials, and all candidates can see this disturbing scene as a sign that tactics must change, lest they poison the fight for pluralistic progress.”
